This product is a tool to create Subtitles, Logos, Prefaces, and Credits.

After extensive tests with favourable results, Karaoke Kit is released on November 20, 2000 with the following features:

  • Supports solo, duet, chorus singers: different positioning of lyrics, different color sets.
  • Supports preface (for credits) and logos (for record companies or station identifier).
  • Supports multiple background color for overlay key control.
  • Supports line by line editing or paragraph editing.
  • Supports most overlay boxes, such as CPT-370.
  • Supports any Windows based fonts and icons: single byte, double byte unicode Asian languages.
  • Changes color of lyrics according to tempo: can be fast or slow.
  • Controls timming with accuracy, to 1/100 of a second!
  • Positions and scales Prefaces and Logos on the screen.
  • Assigns various colors to: the background, font with user assigned fringe, unmarked (unsung) text, marked (sung) text.
  • Uses it for subtitling purposes.
  • Counts down before playing: easy to synchronize with music.
  • Using it is very easy! You can compile one song in 15 minutes!

The following summarizes what is needed to create a karaoke tape, VCD, or DVD.

1. To create a karaoke tape, video and audio together with the subtitles. you need to purchase an overlay box, e.g. a Coriogen eclipse or a CPT-370. Please connect up the box as follows:

2. To create a VCD or DVD Karaoke, you need to:

A) Follow the steps shown in the diagram above to create a tape.
B) Use a Hardware Encoder   to encode

MPEG 1 for VCD
MPEG 2 for DVD

3. If the lyrics only video is reqiured for the editing software, you need to:
    A) Create a DV TAPE (a video)
    B) Use the firewire to input the DV TAPE content into the editor e.g. Ulead or Adobe Premiere, use their overlay option to overlay onto the video.

    This is a simple operational procedure for Karaoke Kit:
    All you have to do is follow these four easy steps:
    1. Prepare a lyrics text file,
    2. Assign color set,
    3. While listening to song, hit the space bar once when every word is sung,
    4. Compile

    This panel allows you to edit the timing of a single line of a song simply by pressing the space bar to cue the words and the time is calculated automatically below
